Sunmaya Budha Story

Sunmaya has a remarkable story of self-determination and woman’s empowerment. At age 16, she fled from an impending arranged marriage in Nepal to chase her dream to be an athlete.
Her journey from a remote Himalayan village to the podium of one of the world’s biggest races astonished the trail running community and she has not looked back since.
In 2022, Sunmaya propelled herself to a Top 10 in the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships. That same year, she made trail running history at the UTMB’s 100km CCC, running the 2nd fastest time ever in her first attempt.
Sunmaya’s exceptional record is a testament to her talent and APA eagerly anticipates her years to come on the global stage.
