Scotty Hawker, who won the 3rd place in the UTMB 2019, has started his 2020 race season by running the Shotover Moonlight Marathon, a trail running event took place in mid February on Ben Lomond Station, Queenstown, New Zealand. He won the race and broke the course record with a final result of 4:19:27, 6 minutes shorter than the previous record.
“It was so great to be back home and racing in NZ to kick off my 2020 race season. I’ve wanted to run the Shotover Moonlight Marathon for a few years now and it didn’t disappoint. The course has everything including ridgelines, waterfalls, scree descents and even climbing up a ladder next to a waterfall.” said Hawker. Hawker ran this race in the KAILAS Fuga Pro trail running shoes, the same as the one he wore in the UTMB 2019.
The KAILAS Fuga Pro trail running shoe is the winner of the ISPO Award 2019. It features the Vibram Litebase and Megagrip outsole that offers unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces without sacrificing on its weight. The shoe is super lightweight (258g, size 42) and performs extremely well in mixed tracks, ideally suited for elite runners.
